Testimonials

I got the opportunity to hear Kyle Prue speak at one of the general sessions of the Florida Reading Association Conference in Orlando, Florida. I was so impressed with his presentation that I wanted to bring him to speak at our local conference. The Bay County Reading association recently hosted our 32nd annual reading conference in Panama City, FL. We had around 400 K-12 educators from Bay and surrounding counties in attendance. Kyle came to be the keynote speaker for our general session. He was such a hit with our teachers! We received nothing but positive feedback from our attendees, and the crowd response during his presentation was so fun to watch. We were able to provide our attendees with a copy of his first book and Kyle took the time after the session to sign the books and take pictures with everyone. It was such a positive experience. This young man has a real talent for speaking and I have no doubt that he will accomplish great things as his career continues.Terri Lowe, Bay County Reading Association Conference Chair 2016-17
Please allow me to strongly recommend Kyle Prue as an inspirational teen author. As a veteran teacher, English department chair, and grade level leader I have participated in the execution of dozens of assemblies over my 23 years in Grosse Pointe Public Schools. None of our previous authors and speakers left the same energetic, positive impression on our middle school students. To be perfectly honest, I was hesitant to put too much stock in an 18 year old having the stage presence, powerful message and overall maturity to capture our unique audience. Add to that ,he had two setbacks before he could even begin. First, the assembly was scheduled for Friday, October 30th. Most educators dread the excitement of the Halloween holiday. In addition, we started behind the eight ball with a power outage in our auditorium. Kyle quickly adjusted his presentation and technical needs to be better suited for a gymnasium presentation. While I started to worry, the last minute change didn’t bother him in the slightest. He maintained his high energy, warm smile, and consistent message throughout three 50 minute assemblies and continued to bond with students individually through three separate lunch sessions. It has been several weeks since Kyle’s visit, and much to my satisfaction, we still have many students carrying around his novel and discussing the characters. We all eagerly await the publication of his second novel in the spring and then the third to complete his trilogy. They say the proof is in the pudding. Parcells couldn’t agree more. Our student body is in the process of starting a club based on independent, enjoyment reading and writing that stems from Kyle sharing his personal journey. Thank you Kyle Prue. You are making a difference in the lives of many of Grosse Pointe’s youth.

Kyle Prue captivated an audience of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders at Eisenhower High School. He inspired readers and writers of all levels with an engaging, relevant, and relatable presentation. Students were enthralled with Kyle’s anecdotes and personal experiences with reading and writing on his journey to becoming an award-winning, published author. Days later, students are still talking about feeling inspired to write after listening to Kyle speak. What a great way to start off our school year! I would highly recommend Kyle Prue’s presentation as it is meaningful, fresh, and engaging–just what our students need!”Lisa Packan - English Teacher, Eisenhower High School

We invited Kyle to our school in hopes that he would excite and inspire our students, and he delivered. Kyle told stories and answered questions in a way that made reading and writing cool and fun. His story of “crushing Maria” in a 5th grade reading contest inspired us to begin our own “Crush Maria Reading Contest.” I’m excited to see how many more books our students read this year as a result of Kyle’s presentation. http://www.chippewavalleyschools.org/schools/middle-schools/seneca/academics/crush-maria-reading-contestTodd Distelrath - Seneca Middle School, Principal

The assembly with Kyle Prue must have ‘sparked’ something in my son – he asked me for a composition book, saying he wants to write a book and has some ideas. Love it!!! Thank you for setting this assembly up for our students.Gemilla Loper - Parent, Parcells Middle School

Kyle will NEVER begin to fathom the depth to which he touched some of our most at risk students. I am forever grateful. I have pictures of the kids devouring the book and they rated it a hands down 10 stars. The best part was Kyle stopped by unannounced today to sign a poster of his characters and several of our students were making t-shirts of his book cover! Let me emphasize the fact that these are STUDENTS IN INTENSIVE HELP FOR LANGUAGE ARTS AND STRUGGLING RELUCTANT READERS. This event was a BREAKTHROUGH IN A HUGE WAY!Beth Lindenmeyer - Media Specialist, Pine Ridge Middle School Naples, FL

Although the kids loved meeting all the YA authors at the Riverdale Reading Festival, Kyle was no doubt the most popular. The kids were lined up to get their books signed and to get photos with Kyle. I have just finished reading The Sparks and I couldn’t put it down. I have recommended it for all of our branches.Amy McWilliam - Ft Myers, FL Librarian

Kyle spoke at Trombly Elementary School in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, to the rapt attention of an audience of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Although The Sparks is aimed at a slightly older reader, Kyle’s engaging manner kept the children interested for an hour. He sheds bright light on his experiences as a young writer pursuing his dream, and inspires children to pursue their own passions. Highly recommended.Eric Frakes - Teacher, Trombly Elementary School, MI

Inspiring is how I would describe Kyle’s presentation to our students. The tales of his journey from a first grader completing his daily journaling to a published author had the students mesmerized. His message was one of determination, perseverance and resilience. His friendly and honest approach helped our students connect with him. It was one of the best assemblies we have had for our students. Kyle inspired our students to become writers and readers!
